Experience Summary
I'm passionate about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. With my degree in geology and experiences in technology and computer arenas, I'm capable of guiding inquiry on such subjects. In addition to traditional teaching, mentoring, and volunteering from grade school computer labs to adult geology field trips, I've also coached teams such as Odyssey of the Mind (at all levels 3rd through 11th grade). My career has also taken me through technical writing, finance, and project management experiences from which many practical skills have emerged.
Teaching Style
I tend to teach by leading participants on a somewhat self-inspired inquiry or pursuit. By providing sufficient material and probing questions, students ready, willing, and able to learn can take us - teacher and student - on surprisingly rewarding journeys. The "brass ring" is there for both.
