Experience Summary
With my degree and certification, I am highly qualified to teach students in grades K-6 in all subject areas. In addition to my degree, I received training for AMSTI and ARI which are in use in many schools statewide. I have a great deal of experience working in inclusion classrooms. Having taught students in each ability grouped program of education, I am aware of the importance of adjusting teaching methods for each student. Beyond my experience in an elementary environment, I have been tutoring high school and college students beginning 9 years ago. I have experience tutoring high school and college students in Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Chemistry, and Geometry. I feel very comfortable tutoring adults and children alike.
Teaching Style
As a mother and a certified teacher, I enjoy teaching, tutoring, and working with students of all ages. Through receiving my teaching degree, I recognize the importance of individualized instruction as well as the importance of maintaining patience with and providing comfortable environments for students. I enjoy assisting students reach and exceed their goals. I feel that the best way to help a student understand a concept, or subject, is to determine his or her individual learning style, interests, and perspectives. This type of instruction is not always practical in a classroom, which is why I began tutoring. All students have the potential to succeed, and I am here to assist you or your child in achieving that success.
