Experience Summary
I have shown a life-long commitment to childhood education. I have both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education. I taught 6--8 year olds for 3 years in an innovative primary school environment. I spent 5 years working with Follow Through (a Federally sponsored program to assist Head Start children and families once children entered primary school). I owned/operated and directed a pre-school for 4 years serving low-income, at-risk children and families. I have always been active in education related community affairs and organizations.
Teaching Style
I believe children learn best when they are able to innovate within a clear framework. I am very flexible, capable of working one-on-one or in small or large groups. I believe in accountability, but also understand that children develop at varied speeds. I am an excellent listener. I have a clear and firm manner which makes expectations understandable and achievable. I am highly organized and have clear plans and expecations for myself and my students at all times.
