Experience Summary
As a law school graduate, I am well trained in writing and communication skills. While in law school I was awarded a position on the legal journal of Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine. My duties as a member of the executive board were to manage the staff and tutor the other editors in writing skills as they developed articles worthy of publication in the journal. In addition to my experience in law school, I am currently clerking for a federal judge in downtown Pittsburgh where I write legal opinions and edit the work of other law clerks and interns. I believe that my experience in editing the work of others at a high level will prove to be a valuable asset in the tutoring of children in writing and reading skills.
Teaching Style
In addition to my desire to practice law, I have a passion for the education of children. I believe children learn in many different ways and I am not committed to just one teaching style. As someone who developed later in life in terms of academic achievement, I know the importance of patience and passion in the education of children. I believe it is important to communicate without discouraging children. Learning is a process and cannot be rushed or forced upon anyone. I strive to make a difference in the lives of children and I believe I can achieve such a goal by teaching.
