Experience Summary
Taught kindergarten-sixth grade . B.S. Psychology/Technology Management. Finishing Masters in Education w/emphasis special education; completing classes requiring integration technology into curriculum for children. With speech therapists, psychologists, doctors, physical trainers, planned curriculum which would teach children with Autism appropriate behaviors. Developed writing class for Chaffey College . Knowledge of writing techniques to assist young learners in their quest to write well; taught first grade children reading by Christmas the Boxcar Kid series. Wrote icon learning program for children with Autism to teach them to read. Directed children's theater. Taught computer classes first through sixth grade.
Teaching Style
I have a very natural, relaxed teaching style. I nurture self-esteem and success. I believe that children are naturally creative, inquisitive, and avid learners. When they are nurtured, taught, and loving cared for and educated by adults in their lives, they soar to their greatest heights with enriched self esteem and excelling in knowledge of new tasks/skills based on their ability. I have always said that children are like sponges, they will absorb what they are able to comprehend at the time and a teacher must build on their successes. I always look for their “abilities” and then expand on them.
