Experience Summary
After obtaining a Masters of Science with a Minor in Education, teaching has become my life pursuit. Even when working for a large Biotech firm, I have tutored for one year in public schools during my lunch hour. As the volunteer leader for our 500 person campus, I am proud to say I spear-pointed the adoption of our nearby high-needs school. Working in the field along with my education has given me a scientific, mathematic, and data analytical background. After working for 2 years obtaining industry experience I took 80 hours teaching pre-service training last June.
Teaching Style
My personal philosophy embraces ownership, one of the top ingredients for successful learning. Personal ownership creates a more perceptive learning process. Students will be more willing to maintain their learning as they proceed throughout the year. Another way ownership makes a big academic difference is through motivation. Ownership will also create self-confidence. A good teacher demonstrates faith in their ability to achieve simply by making them part of the process. When asking them ‘what do you think;’ their participation will increase and they will better remember the facts being taught. In conclusion, students with ownership have optimized their academics, productivity, and self-esteem.
