Experience Summary
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I concurrently completed my certification as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher 8-12. I have four years experience teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus in the public school system. I have been a full-time math tutor for five years.
Teaching Style
I love seeing the light bulb turn on when working with a student. I believe that math can be very intimidating to some students and it is imperative to be understanding and patient. I feel it is important to respect the rigor of math, but it is also important to be aware of the pychological state of the student. I am a firm believer in teaching to the individual student's learning style, and sometimes that means helping them discover thier learning style.
