Experience Summary
I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and certified K-8. After 3 years of teaching I went out to earn a Masters degree in Reading from Baldwin Wallace College. I taught for 8 years in a first grade classroom. During that time, my classroom was filled with a variety of children with a variety of learning styles. I was lucky enough to have hosted the inclusion classroom and the gifted children throughout my years of teaching which enabled me to adapt my lessons in a multitude of ways so each child had the ability to learn.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with children and watching them achieve their goals. I help children achieve their goals, by teaching to their learning style whether it is tactile, visual, auditory, and physical or a combination. It is important to first understand the child’s needs and abilities and then create a lesson plan that best suits them. Learning is about discovery and it my job to help the children discover they can learn and enjoy it, too!
