Experience Summary
I started off being an elementary aide/tutor in 1988 in public schools. I loved working with children so I decided to go back to college to become a teacher. I attended several colleges in different cities (where my husband, daughter and I lived at the time). We moved to Amarillo,Tx. in 1994 where I attended Amarillo College to finish my basic hours. I transferred to West Texas A&M University in Canyon,Texas. I graduated in 1998 with a BS in elementary education and a concentration in math- grade levels 1st through 8th. I have taught 1st and 3rd grade and also 8 years of middle school math.
Teaching Style
I love teaching children of all ages. If children needed extra help we would stay and have small group tutorials after school two or three days a week. Children learn in many different ways. To find a child's interest and build on it can make all the difference in the world. Keeping children's attention and focused on what they are learning is the key to success! I am a firm believer that "All Children Can Learn". Children learn by listening and watching the teacher provide instruction, then actively doing hands-on projects. I am a patient, understanding and very positive person. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I love making a difference in my students'lives.
