Experience Summary
I started tutoring students middle and high school prior to graduating college. I have taught part-time college students at various institutions since 1996. I also have worked as an independent tutor part-time. I have more than 30 years of experience teaching as a one-on-one tutor and as a college instructor. I currently teach at Wake Tech Community College. I have taught at Strayer University, Campbell University, Mount Olive College, Durham Tech Community College, Central Carolina Community College and Vance-Granville Community College. I have worked with 3 other tutoring companies: University Instrcutors, Advanced Learners and WyzAnt.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching any age student, but more than that I get satisfaction when that student attains their goal. I believe in using the Socratic method of teaching and allowing the student to get their own answers rather than just telling them. I seek to develop and foster great students who will attain excellent careers. This method can be adapted to fit any student of any age.

I have and continue to teach, mentor, advise and tutor students of various ages in all types of settings from large classrooms to private homes. I am able to assess a student quickly and determine the help they will need to succeed and map a plan for them to get there. I have more than 30 years of experience teaching as a one-on-one tutor and as a college instructor. I also have 30 years of business management experience at various positions from an administrator to the head of a division. I have worked at JC Penney, United Postal Service, Target, Bojangles, West Brothers Transfer-Storage and Atlantic Coast Contractors. I have used many formal and informal methods to achieve student success. I also am very comfortable working in any type of setting. I have taught and tutored thousands of students.
