Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Endorsements in Reading and English Speakers of Other Languages. I am currently working towards my M.ed in Reading Education at the University of Florida. During my schooling I gained experience in grades K-6th by working over 200 hours in schools. As part of my program, I also completed two part-time internships in 5th and K and a full-time internship in 3rd grade where all of my students passed the FCAT with a two or higher in math and reading. In addition to school, I was a part of the Best Buddies program and executive board which worked with people who have intellectual disabilities and I feel confident in my ability to meet the needs of others.
Teaching Style
I enjoy learning and I strive to teach so that my students enjoy learning as well. I choose to cater my instruction to my individual students so that I can interest them, connect to them, and meet the overall needs of the student. I pride myself on my creativity and I work hard to come up with unique ways to teach skills that have become frustrating and often boring to students because I understand that not all students learn in the same fashion. I know the importance of instilling the knowledge of basic skills into my students but I also recognize that learning needs to be interesting and relatable in order to comprehend. I am patient, flexible, and compassionate to all learners.
