Experience Summary
II have worked as a tutor with students of all ages and backgrounds. I have tutored for 10 years in math and English. I have tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students math, and I taught English as a second language in South Korea. Tutoring and teaching is my passion. I offer the student my educational and professional experience in math, accounting, and English. My professional experience as an accountant is helpful to primarily to older students because it enables the students to relate and see that what they are studying is important, and does apply to the real world. My experience teaching in a foreign country has refined my communication and attention to detail in each tutoring session.
Teaching Style
I encourage and challenge my students. Whether they are studying algebra or learning English, I always provide them easy to remember tips, challenging lessons, and carefully thought out practice questions. When conducting a lesson, I always inform the students of the rules and steps to solve the problem; I try to do this in the most comedic and creative way possible, so the students remembers. Then I go through each problem and/or question with the student a couple of times, then I let the student try a few for themselves. I encourage the students to explore and ask and to practice and challenge themselves. I have tutored for about ten years and find it a remarkably rewarding experience.
