Experience Summary
Over 25 years with children of all ages, grade and achievement levels in USA and international settings. Special skillsets for children who have less than successful classroom experiences and English as a Second Language. Extensive success writing Individualized Education Plans, establishing metrics and guiding students to attain prescribed goals. Experience ranges from classroom teaching to small group and one-on-one tutoring. Had unique success home-schooling son from grades K-8 while circumnavigating the globe on sailboat; was responsible for all curriculum development, testing, teaching and monitoring.
Teaching Style
Set example for students by maintaining high level of fitness and healthy appearance. Use excellent communication skills to establish immediate rapport with children and gain insight to their special needs. As Special Educator utilized diagnostic-prescriptive approach. International experience allows me to involve creative, multi-cultural, hands-on lessons to make learning interesting and inviting. My caring ways immediately envelop students, helps gain their trust creating enthusiastic involvement. My passion for the teaching vocation and working with children has been apparent throughout my life.
