Experience Summary
I am a 2006 honors graduate of Kent State University's Early Childhood Education, earning both an AS and BS and am currently working on a MS in Special Education. I entered the educational field as a career after finding a natural ability to meet the needs of learners with unique challenges through a mentor/tutor program at a local elementary school. Since then I have worked with students from preschool through eighth grades. I have also worked with all levels of learning ability from those with learning disabilities to those who are gifted. In addition I have worked as an aide, tutor, and classroom teacher as well as set up tutoring and enrichment programs.
Teaching Style
I have an innate instinct to teach and a drive that brings me great satisfaction from teaching. In working with children from preschool age through high school, I have come to recognize the uniqueness of each age group but have developed no preference as I enjoy working with all children. I have found that I have been able to meet the needs of the most challenging students both academically and behaviorally in a wide variety of environments. From all of my vast experiences I have found that I can teach anyone, anytime, anywhere and they will learn no matter what challenges are present. Every child can learn and every child can succeed; it takes a special person to see the strengths of each child and build upon them.
