Experience Summary
As a design student, and throughout my life, I have held the ability to grasp new concepts in multiple subjects with very little difficulty. I have used this skill to assist classmates in better understanding difficult subjects mostly in mathematics, science, and computer applications. My bachelors of fine arts degree in interior architecture has enabled me to become proficient in subjects such as geometry, trigonometry, drafting, CAD, perspective drawing and rendering, environmental science, art history, and computer applications in PC and MAC. Within the last few years, I have tutored in mathematics, reading, CAD, sociology, and psychology. Recently, I passed the CBEST exam and obtained my Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
Teaching Style
I believe education is the most valuable gift we can pass on to our most valuable resources, which is the youth. I would like to be a factor in providing the best quality of education for our youth by using evaluation skills to determine what type of learner each student is. I am a strong believer in visual aid and learning through visual demonstration and providing clear, detailed examples. I also like to create an environment to practice positive reenforcement which will give students positive motivation to learn and increase the passion for learning. Also, by being a mentor to students who may be having difficulties, I believe communication between a student and a tutor will be greatly improved and thus providing clearer understanding.
