Experience Summary
While attending Brown University, I volunteered as a tutor at Providence Summerbridge, an enrichment program for inner-city middle school students. I realized that teaching was my passion and became a full-time ESL teacher at an elementary school in Washington, DC while earning masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from American University. During the past three years I have been the 5th grade reading teacher at a school, which is part of the highest performing school system in DC. I raised my students' reading test scores from the 14th percentile to the 38th percentile in just one year.
Teaching Style
I love learning new concepts with my students. I believe that learning can be an amazing experience, especially when students have to work hard. I love the challenge of figuring out how students learn best, and will do what ever it takes for every student to learn at the highest level.
