Experience Summary
My Bachelor's degree was in Special education. I became certified in elementary education in Arizona. I taught school( 1 year in high school, 2 years in 1&2 combo, 1 1/2 years in self contained special ed grades 5-8(relocated, 9 years in grade 3, 2 years in grade 4. At this point, I was encouraged to go into administration. I attended Chapman University and received my Master's, continued hours for my principalship. I then taught 2 years in 7th grade. I was assistant principal for 9 years and became a principal for 9 years.I have carefully studied the most up-to-date research, data and presented these to my staffs.
Teaching Style
I love to see the success in children's eyes. I am patient and kind, but have big expectations. I believe in active engaged learning and using higher levels of thinking when possible.Having a special education background, I believe all children can learn at their own developmental rate. I celebrate even the smallest success and truly mean it. Even though, I have been in administration, I continued to teach in classrooms, mentor and tutor students. So often, the appreciation of the students and parents has been afforded to me.
