Experience Summary
I graduated with honors from Eastern Washington University and began teaching in the public school in Newport. During the three years with that school district, I tutored during the summers, usually in reading and writing, though I have tutored math, history, and science as well. While teaching my children at home for the next 18 years, I have tutored many ages in writing, and currently teach and tutor at the Deer Park Homelink program, where I have been for the past eight years.
Teaching Style
Teaching children of all ages is my passion. A few of my skills include the ability to be able to communicate with children on a level they understand, assess their learning style, and provide access to materials that will enhance their learning. Because I have taught at the Homelink program for so long and have worked with children of all ages, I feel comfortable with any age or learning style, and am very patient. Children learn through discovery, and that is how I teach.
