Experience Summary
My past experiences as a studying elementary and special education teacher include multiple classroom settings in both urban and suburban school districts. My time spent in numerous classroom settings has motivated me to value teaching students in a meaningful way, where instruction is adapted to fit the needs of all individual students. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, grades 1-6, along with a Master's degree in Literacy Education, grades K-12. My most recent experience working with students includes teaching 6th - 9th grade reading and writing courses at a summer program within the Philadelphia area.
Teaching Style
Throughout my teaching experiences I have had the opportunity to work with numerous students with a variety of learning styles. My undergraduate experiences in Inclusive Education have influenced my beliefs in differentiating instruction, as I feel that my responsibility as a teacher is to adapt and modify instruction to best fit the needs of all my students. I feel very strongly that every student should be given the chance to learn in a safe environment where teaching strategies are implemented that include individual's strengths in order to best support their needs. In addition, I find it essential to motivate and encourage students in all subject areas.
