Experience Summary
I am a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA in Sociology. My interest in people and passion for helping others has lead me to many great opportunities. I have worked with the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, and aided/taught/mentored in the developmentally disabled and at-risk populations. I have had the chance to utilize my education and abilities in the Deland-Weldon school system for the past four years. There, I have provided social skills education, aided in the Pre-Kindergarten program, and helped implement reading skills to third and fifth graders via the RTI program. I am also the mother of three children ages 13, 8, and 5.
Teaching Style
As a mother of three school aged children, I understand how important a little extra help and encouragement can be to academic success. I also know from my experience with many students that each child has his/her own learning style. It is my interest to find the most effective approach for each individual student and help them reach their full potential. I have found much satisfaction in educating and encouraging my own children and my students. My goal is to see success in every child.
