Experience Summary
I have years of experience in tutoring students from kindergarten to high-school level, as well as teaching adults in English as a Second Language through private lessons. To measure the actual performance level of my students, I have learned to design and compile my own tests according to the classroom-covered material. Studying for a Master's Degree in English gave me the opportunity to get in-depth knowledge of advanced grammar, literature-both English and American, linguistics and every little detail regarding the language. Being an Interpreter from English to Bulgarian and vice versa to foreigners for 3 years, mainly at conferences, gave me the knowledge and experience of translation and interpretation techniques.
Teaching Style
I believe the learning process should be enjoyable, engaging and productive. My teaching style is individualized, adaptive to my students' needs and goals and at the same time creative so that they would see how FUN and EASY is to COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY in English. I use a lot of grammar and exercise reference books as well as other supporting materials. My guidelines for tutoring are learning from mistakes, interaction and immediate application. In addition to my passion for teaching, I'm able to give clear instructions and explanations. I’m always trying to encourage my students to self-discover their learning capabilities and deal with the fear of frustration, because I’ve been there and I understand what they are going through.
