Experience Summary
As a fourth generation college graduate, I was driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education to continue my family tradition of graduating with honors. I have earned a 5 year B. Arch from Pratt Institute. Tutoring found me in college, when my fellow students asked me to tutor them in structural courses. My classmates did not have an adequate structural foundation, whereas I had graduated from a very rigorous high school with advanced studies in math and physics. My students often told me that I have a gift for demystifying complex ideas. My study group proved so successful that Pratt offered me a tutoring position. I have taught and tutored math and science-related courses for graduate and undergraduate students ever since. I worked significant amount with Adobe photoshop, and I can tutor Photoshop.
Teaching Style
In my 10 years of tutoring experience, I worked with more than 100 students from many different backgrounds and countries, which exposed me to different ways that students learn. Some did not know English, others were used to different alphabets and calculating systems. I believe that key to teaching is care, patience and motivation. In my classes, I use a variety of styles; I am trying to be as descriptive as possible utilizing my superb graphic skills and trying to relate to everyday’s life. For me the most important thing is teaching a student how to think in a methodological way.
With my system, my students develop their own learning techniques and take control of their studying.
