Experience Summary
I have a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction,I have taught using large,small,one on one group instruction,the thematic approach, centers, cooperative learning, mastery learning, multiple intelligences, and direct instruction.I enjoy motivating children.The formation of lessons are based on the curriculum provided and state standards. I have worked with the mentally retarded as an assistant during my college years.I have taught kindergarten for three years within the inner city school district of Cleveland which was under title I, and taught second grade in Hillsborough county with an ESOL population and title I. I have state certification in ESOL and ESE.
Teaching Style
I am very flexible.I have taught using large group instruction, small group instruction, one-on-one instruction,the thematic approach, centers, cooperative learning, mastery learning, multiple intelligences, and direct instruction.I have used PowerPoint,computer technology,music and movement in the classroom. Careful planning and understanding of student's learning style helps.Manipulatives assists with discovery.The learning environment is important because every child needs to feel safe; I assess each child's needs.I am patient, caring, considerate and easy going.I personally tailor the learning to my students. Almost everyone can remember their favorite teacher.I strive to be this person in my students' lives.
