Experience Summary
Education is extremely important to me, and I constantly strive to achieve a high level of excellence in all my educational pursuits. I have earned bachelors, master's, and doctoral degrees in the field of communication, with graduate level minors/training in psychology and statistics. My educational background has given me extensive experience in writing and grammar due to writing research papers. My research has been recognized at regional and national levels with awards of excellence. I believe my professional and educational experience allows me to provide various perspectives to my students in the fields of English, Psychology, Statistics, Public Relations and Communications.
Teaching Style
I follow three goals with every student that I teach: To encourage original and critical thinking, to introduce new topics in such a way that the students will not only learn the concepts but also begin to apply them in practice, and to engage, empower, and encourage my students so that they emerge more confident in their ability to analyze problematic issues and propose appropriate and creative solutions.
Just as I believe there is not one set style of learning, I also do not believe that there is one set style of teaching. I employ a variety of strategies, from straight lecture to various interactive activities that allow the student to see the material in a practical and applicable way.
