Experience Summary
As a university graduate, I have a passion for excellence in education. My education includes a BA in English, a MA in Linguistics, two minors in Teaching English as a Second Language to English language learners. As a result of writing research papers, essays, and a thesis, I have learned grammatical skills. I also taught as a reading adjunct teacher at two community colleges. At CSU-Fresno, I worked as a specialist tutor. I also tutored students in elementary through college in reading,special needs,with a focus on reading across the disciplines.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all students. Each one is important and can achieve excellence. Every student can learn and reach their highest potential with patience,encouragement, and guidance. I am caring, considerate, encouraging, patient, and interesting. I am willing to try different approaches that will help students become successful in their courses. As a tutor, I feel that students can either succeed or fail from instruction received. I believe that tutoring students is important and helps students become their own best teacher. My belief is that I can make a difference in every student.
