Experience Summary
As a valued member of the ANA faculty and team I continually worked to lift the standards and proficiency of all the students that I taught both directly and indirectly to prepare them for the rigors of high school and college. As the English Department Chair I mentored and provided leadership to the staff I supervised as well as my fellow colleagues. I earned a BS in Education as well as a Certification in TESL. During my many years of teaching I have mentored and tutored students in English, History, ESL and Study Skills (which focused on time management, organization, note taking and test taking skills as well as building self-esteem.) I have an extensive background in volunteering and in promoting anti-bullying programs.
Teaching Style
I believe any child can learn. My passion is to help your child become successful by helping them to read with comprehension, write clearly, compute accurately, think, reason, and use information to solve problems; and allow them to become responsible, independent learners. I believe in the hands-on approach to teaching and learning and use the best practices to select the best learning method. I want to make a difference in the lives of all the children I come in contact with and teach; to help them take that first step towards making their dreams and goals a reality.
