Experience Summary
My bachelor degree in Animal Bioscience, along with extensive experience in research labs, has helped me develop expertise in many areas of science and math. Additionally, I have gained technical writing skills through writing lab reports, research papers, and essays, as well as through reading and editing scientific publications. As an undergraduate, I spent two years as a teaching assistant, teaching biology and animal science courses. Through chaperoning for a high school summer camp, I have further developed the ability to interact positively with students.
Teaching Style
Through my own experience as student, I have learned how important and beneficial an innovative, positive approach to teaching can be. As a teacher, my goal is to not only teach a student the required material, but to also promote a deep understanding of it. I believe that hands-on learning is the best way to achieve this. Interaction with the material, coupled with an up-beat attitude, creates a positive environment for learning. When I teach, this is the type of environment I support.
