Experience Summary
I earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2003 and I have taught creative writing, theatre, playwriting, and acting since then. In 2005, I gained my substitute teacher credential and have taught all around Sacramento, substituting for teachers in all subjects. I also write plays and poems. I have always had an interest and talent for teaching kids. I have taught kids from one on one, all the way to audiences of 300. I have also worked as a nanny for 10 years, so I know what kids are into, what they like, and how to get them to respond.
Teaching Style
I believe that kids learn better when they are enjoying themselves and sometimes even having fun! I try to make the things they are learning interesting and entertaining. If a child does not want to learn, they won't, by adding fun into the equation, you have created the desire to learn in that child. I am very patient and easy-going, but I also know when to lay down the law. I believe that life is very hard without a thorough education, and instilling early in a child the importance of education will only make their lives a little easier.
