Experience Summary
As a masters degree holding physicist I have an extensive background in both physics and mathematics. Additionally, as a published author and the author of many research papers and lab reports I have considerable grammatical skills, and writing experience. My whole educational career tutoring my classmates and siblings has come as second nature to me, but I have had official teaching assistant and course assistant roles in helping edit student essays, and in introductory physics courses. Additionally, I have tutored students in astronomy, chemistry, history of science, and mathematics at levels ranging from basic arithmetic to calculus. I also have considerable experience with standardized testing, drawing and painting.
Teaching Style
I am a calm, patient, and easy-going person who loves learning and loves helping others to learn. I enjoy adapting to different learning styles, and want to help each student to the greatest extent I am able to. I try to strike the correct balance between allowing students to work problems out themselves and giving them guidance. The subject areas I focus in are generally considered difficult, but I believe that with guidance, and perhaps a more constructive mindset, the problems can become enjoyable and achievable puzzles.
