Experience Summary
I taught pre-algebra and algebra at Helms Middle School in San Pablo, California from 2002 - 2010.
I taught 6th grade math,7th grade math, pre-algebra, and algebra 1 at Adams Middle School in Richmond, Ca 1996-2002.
I taught all subjects to homeless students at the Richmond Rescue Mission and Battered Women's Shelter through the West Contra Costa School District from 1994-1996.
I taught computer literacy and adult basic education to inmates of the West Contra Costa detention facility in Richmond, 1990-1994
I taught adult basic education through the Oakland adult evening adult school, 1990-1996
Teaching Style
I Generally like to propose problems and or questions to students and have a general discussion about the math. If at all possible, I want them to be able to understand and explain how math works in their world. I also try to help them understand that math is a series of patterns and if they can understand and follow the patterns, this will be in their best interest.
