Experience Summary
My work experience is a unique combination of teaching and entrepreneurship. Following college graduation I worked as a general manager for a highly successful restaurant, where I managed a staff of over 70 employees. I excelled at training young staff to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the workplace. Inspired by my training and development responsibilities as a manager, I chose to return to school to earn my Masters of Science Degree in the field of Business Education (from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater). As a high school teacher, I taught a variety of classes including accounting, marketing, finance, business law, computer applications, and web design.
Teaching Style
I love working with students of all ages and demographic backgrounds. I am patient and believe that each student has their own unique style of learning. My goal is to teach each student how to become a more effective and efficient learner, regardless of past challenges or current obstacles. Former students have described me as a passionate, innovative, fun, and professional educator. I draw upon my experiences as an entrepreneur and general manager to provide genuine, authentic learning opportunities which connect theory with practice.
