Experience Summary
I have nearly 2 years of teaching experience at the college level at two separate institutions. At Monroe County Community College, I taught both lecture and lab courses in basic chemistry. At Owens Community College, I taught only lab courses, but I also tutored students in chemistry. My education is diverse: my undergraduate degree is a double major in chemistry and environmental science with a minor in biology, and I have earned a Master’s degree in chemical engineering.
Teaching Style
I prefer tutoring over lecturing, as it allows one-on-one interaction with students and a focus on areas they do not understand. I try to teach by example, and then have the student apply what they have learned to new problems and situations. Since my experience is at the community college level, I have worked comfortably with both recent high school graduates and those returning to school to further their education.
