Experience Summary
As a student at UNC Charlotte I was also privileged to be a part of the schools track team. This experience gave me good time management skills and also gave me unique opportunities to help my fellow teammates on their math homework while away on meets. My senior year I began tutoring officially through the athletic department, where I still tutor occasionally. I have tutored multiple students in Computer Science, and basic Statistics courses. I feel my strong point is in calculus; however I feel confident within many areas of college and high school mathematics.
Teaching Style
I have recently begun my pursuit of a Masters in Teaching (MAT). I believe my studies thus far have well prepared me and helped form the teaching strategies I have today. Between my experiences thus far as a tutor and my studies I believe everyone is capable of learning. Not everyone’s learning habits and techniques are the same, which can cause struggles when within a large group. I believe I can meet the personal needs of a student through one on one study and practice. I believe in making the subject relevant to the student and feel that practice is the best way to improve understanding.
