Experience Summary
I have taught/tutored grades K-college and love teaching/tutoring in the areas of Reading, English, and writing! I am qualified to complete Student Assessments, which helps me to better evaluate strengths and weaknesses and to equip students with the skills necessary for success. I earned a Masters in Education and a Reading Endorsement Masters and have 30+ years of teaching/tutoring experience.
Teaching Style
There is nothing more rewarding than to see a student's face, no matter their age, light up, and to hear them say, "I get it!". That is one reason why I enjoying teaching and tutoring. My job is not to just relay information, but to prepare my students. I can assist younger students by providing them with rich language experiences and much needed skills. I can prepare students to read and understand different kinds of texts, to express themselves with their words and their voices, to take different kinds of tests, and to understand and answer different kinds of questions. I am a creative, hands-on, and enthusiastic. I love to help students gain the confidence and abilities needed to have them feel good about themselves and about school.
