Experience Summary
I have taught in higher education for the past 22 years. One year was spent teaching at Spokane Community College and for the past 21 years, I have taught at Whitworth University (formerly College). While I enjoy high teaching evaluations, one of my greatest strengths is the one-on-one teaching I am able to achieve through the advising process and the individual students seeking extra help. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the "light-bulbs" come on in the one-on-one environments. Tutoring in the Rockford area would enable me to share my teaching gifts closer to home.
Teaching Style
I believe teaching is becoming a facilitator of knowledge. I want to help facilitate each individual learning concepts in their own way. I believe in going through applications with the student until they can master the concepts on their own. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with the young adults and capitalizing on their curiosity about life. Helping them understand the concepts of accounting and finance not only helps them through course work, but also gives them a great foundation for life skills. Helping others achieve academic goals, builds their self confidence enabling them to become productive citizens adding to the betterment of all society. I consider it an honor to be able to help others learn.
