Experience Summary
After graduating from college, I taught preschool for 2 years. Since that time, I have worked with children with special needs in a variety of capacities. I currently work in the school system where I have been employed as an Instructional Aide for 7 years. I am currently working towards my masters degree in Exceptional Student Education.
Teaching Style
I have taught children with a variety of exceptionalities which include learning disabilities, autism, and mental retardation. I especially enjoy the challenge of teaching students who having learning difficulties. The children I have been accustomed to working with have typically fallen in the kindergarten through 5th grade level. I am most accustomed to teaching math and language arts, but feel I am capable of also teaching students in other subject areas. I teach according to students' learning styles and according to the particular student's needs. I believe that all children are capable of learning given the appropriate environment and experiences.
