Experience Summary
I hold a BA in human development-child development track and a multiple subject teaching credential. My education enabled me to become skilled in teaching several subjects. I have been working with children as a teacher and as a tutor for the past ten years. My experience and interest in teaching elementary, middle school and high-school aged children has allowed me to gain knowledge in various subject matters. I have worked with different student populations (such as special-day classes, RSP..etc.). I've also gained an understanding as to how to teach students in ways that suite them best.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is creative, hands-on and open-minded. I work with students to find methods of teaching that engage them in the the learning process. I employ the multiple intelligences as much as possible when teaching. If a certain style or method is not effective for a particular student I find a method that works for this student. I let students know that I am commited to helping them succeed and encourage students at all times. I have developed several methods over the years of getting children intrinsically motivated and excited about learning. I am very passionate about helping children succeed and creating a strong rapport with children and parents.
