Experience Summary
I hold a bachelor's degree in English, and during school always held a 3.5 or above GPA. I pay close attention to spelling and grammatical accuracy, and am familiar with academic writing styles and expectations. I excelled in creating research papers on a variety of literary subjects, and I tutored in my school’s university writing center, making me comfortable with college-level writing (and all lower levels as well). I am willing to work with a student until he or she is comfortable with the material at hand, and confident in the work they are producing. I help a student polish their work to ensure the assignment they turn in is one they are proud to have completed.
Teaching Style
I love English, and am comfortable with literary theory, paper writing, literary research, and topic evaluation. I like to share this passion with my students and show them ways to relate to the material they are studying. I enjoy helping others learn and showing them how to use their abilities to excel. I am easy to get along with and encourage students to view learning as fun and interesting. I am able to explain things in a variety of ways depending on the student's personality, age and learning style. I hope to share learning techniques that students can take with them in the future. Overall, my goal through tutoring is to show a student that with self-knowledge and confidence, they can conquer any assignment with ease.
