Experience Summary
I recently graduated from the Ohio State University with a BS in Microbiology. During my time at OSU I tutored both my peers and underclassman in classes ranging from biology, microbiology, chemistry, and various other science related fields. I also have extensive grammar and writing expertise, I've taken courses in and proof read countless documents ranging from writing technical papers for science to creative writing assignments. Not only do I have the tutoring experience and class room experiences, but I worked for three years as a research assistant at the Ohio State University.
Teaching Style
I believe that a student can learn any subject or topic that they put enough effort into. For some, it is difficult to put in effort into some topics because they think "Oh I'll never get this in a million years!" My focus on tutoring kids is to improve their self-esteem by breaking down examples into smaller pieces and walking through them in a step-by-step manner. It is often that all a student needs to understand concepts are just different examples than what they are presented in class, or the subject matter explained in different terms. Because of my research experience I am also able to provide students with examples on how the topics relate to real life experiences.
