Experience Summary
As a Mechanical Engineering student I have learned a broad amount of knowledge from physics, math, to technical writing. My math and physic levels are high enough for very complex technical problems. I have spent a large amount of time giving presentations, & writing technical papers. This has honed my grammatical & literary skills. Furthermore, I volunteered as a church representative for 2 yrs, speaking spanish to natives of mexico & teaching them my church's beliefs. This gave me experience in verbal communication & interaction with various types of people with various learning abilities. I also have experience in tutoring. I tutored an ESL student with his middle school courses. I also tutored a student with his college calculus course.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is patient. I don't believe there is any other way. I listen, I watch, and I give helpful suggestions. I answer the student's questions only as far as what is needed. The students that I work with know and understand that they will be doing the work. I create a friendship with my students so that they respect me as more than a tutor and that I respect them more than a student. Yet, I will help students learn new ways to remember procedures and processes. Overall, I and my students will work together to learn from each other, and to increase our love for learning.
