Experience Summary
I have earned a bachelor of science degree in Biomedical Sciences, with honors, and am currently working toward the completion of a Ph.D. in Basic Medical Sciences. My scientific training supports a proficiency in technical and mathematical concepts. I am also an accomplished and published writer; accordingly, my written composition skills are well-developed. Over the past seven years, I have tutored students in English, written composition, mathematics, and the sciences. I have also successfully guided many high school students through the oftentimes intimidating process of ACT and/or SAT preparation. My instruction has been extraordinarily effective in helping students boost their academic performance, including their test scores.
Teaching Style
I am young, enthusiastic, understanding, and patient. I am passionate about teaching, and it is my foremost goal to direct students toward academic success. I think of teaching as a fine art, founded upon a set of testable objectives. Each and every student is capable of learning, but no one specific formula can guarantee that learning will actually occur. Instead, the process by which it is accomplished is unique to the individual student; personal learning style must be critically evaluated in the development of any effective tutoring plan. A dynamic relationship should also exist between teacher and student, since ideas must be exchanged, discussed, understood, remembered, and applied.
