Experience Summary
For over 15 years I've taught children from kindergarten through eighth grade in various settings. The majority of years I worked with first through fourth graders so I have accumulated experience in reading, math and language arts. I've spent several summers working through an area college helping grade school children make progress in areas they found difficult in the classroom environment. I've also spent two years tutoring in a classroom setting.
Teaching Style
If I had to put a label on my teaching style, I would call it interactive. I believe children learn best if they are actively involved in the learning process. Using materials and techniques that appeal to all of your child's senses is not only a more enjoyable way to teach, but a more effective way to learn. While it is important to have stated goals and levels of achievement, feedback from your child is truly important to me.
