Experience Summary
As long as I can remember, I have loved education. Beginning in my backyard with my cat and dog to my brothers and cousins, I have been a teacher. I grew up to be a teacher and enjoy teaching and tutoring children. I completed my first degree and received my teaching credential in 1990. Recently, I completed my second Masters degree in Special Education and received my Education Specialist credential. I have been hot on the education trail ever since. I have taught grades 1st through 8th for the past 21 years. My academic passions include math, reading, and writing.
Teaching Style
My philosophy of education is to be democratic. All students have a voice in decision making. All students can learn. I encourage individuality and independence. Students learn through examples, modeling, and setting high expectations. I teach through discovery and a constructivist approach. I believe all students can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. Students will excel by learning new strategies and techniques. I work hard to make a difference in my students lives.
