Experience Summary
I have had a lengthy career as an English department head in two independent schools. Presently I enjoy one on one tutoring and academic coaching. Since I am a reading specialist, I can quickly assess what is needed for remediation and acceleration in reading.
I can effectively assist students in all grades as I have written extensive curriculum in all grades. I can assist at college level. I presently teach college writing online and teach writing and literature in middle school in addition to my tutoring practice. I also teach English Language Learners.
I have a Master's in Education and have completed all of the coursework for a Master's in Literature. I am currently writing a dissertation.
Teaching Style
My style is warm and interactive. I do not waste time. I can readily see what is needed and work very well as an adjunct to the student's course of study. I work with AP English and honors English students as well as remedial students in reading and writing. Once I see what is needed, I get the materials and am ready to start. I start where the student is and work for success.
As a writing teacher I can teach strategies to improve writing and work with the writing expectation. I am a master teacher in writing and literature. I also supplement home schooling.
