Experience Summary
I volunteered at a local non-profit, providing tutoring and mentoring services to K-8 students, from 2002 to 2006. I started tutoring a seventh grade student privately in math shortly after that, and continued to tutor her in her home until her sophomore year of high school. I came to her house twice a week to help her with her math homework. I am currently a student at Belmont University, working towards my Masters of Arts in Teaching with middle school licensure.
Teaching Style
I am a support for students, and I enjoy cheering them on and encouraging them to "get" it. I believe that every student can learn, and I like to help them understand their assigned work. I have patience, consistency, and commitment to students and their families. I believe students already know how to do their work; I just help them bring out the confidence.
