Experience Summary
I have always been passionate about business and economics. As a young adult, I read every book about the subject that I could get my hands on! In college, I pursued a BS degree in Finance with a minor in Economics. I was the top student in my department and won a scholarship from Financial Executives International. I graduated with honors in 2004. Since then I have enjoyed a number of full time finance related roles including that of Senior Financial Analyst and most recently: small business owner. I am a big believer in continuous education and have completed my MBA to add to my toolbox of business knowledge. I am passionate about business, finance, and economics and love to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with students.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and have been homeschooling my own three children for the past 2 years. It is a great feeling when something “clicks” and a student understands a complex subject. Having someone who can patiently explain the “big picture” behind the topic can make all the difference. My approach is to emphasis a “top down” understanding. Once a student understands the “why” of a problem, they can move forward to internalize it and conquer any question they might encounter in the future.
