Experience Summary
I have two years experience teaching high school physics and chemistry plus one semeester student teaching chemistry and algebra in addition to 17 years experience as an automotive engineer. I hold a masters degree in education (majors in chemistry and math and a minor in physics) and a masters degree in science with a major in chemical engineering. I am certified to teach math, chemistry and physics.
Teaching Style
I believe in teaching to understanding. I try to guide the student through the process in question in ways that facilitate understanding rather than simply copying steps to get an answer. I beleive that the material must be taught in ways that are relevent to the student. Every subject learned has value, if for no other reason, because learning that subject trains your brain to think in a different way. The more ways we can think, the more flexible and adaptable we become and the easier it is to adjust to the demands of education and lif.
