Teaching Style
My philosophy of teaching can best be understood by interpreting the root word for education. Education comes from the Latin root word educare, which means to draw out. I believe in eliciting their thoughtful responses to the material presented toward them and demonstration of their understanding by applying or telling how the material would be applied to real life situations. I believe that as an instructor, I should tell, teach, show, then tell. By this I mean that I should tell them what they are going to learn, teach them what they should learn, show them what they must learn with ample practical examples, and then tell them what they learned. For me, organization and proper planning are essential.
