Experience Summary
I gained a B.S. degree from Western Michigan University in Math and Physics in April of 07’, and went back to school completing a teacher certification program in April of 09’ at Western Governors University. I currently have EX certification (Secondary Ed. Math) and anticipated DE (Secondary Ed. Physical Science, Physics) certification after this fall. I have experience teaching Applied/Regular Algebra I, Applied/Regular Geometry, Pre-Calc, Trig. Based Physics, ACT prep, College Level Physics, and Physical Science. I also have 2 years tutoring experience independently, and through A+ Educators 360.
Teaching Style
I believe it is important to connect the past learning experiences of each student, and spark interest, and motivation in future learning of the subject. I believe the differences in the discovery process in each individual arouses creativity in the way problems are reasoned through which inspires each student intrinsically.
I give quick, formative assessments to determine students' level of knowledge of the content, and their learning style. I provide instruction using open-ended question discussions, real world manipulative, multiple solutions for the same problem, and the promotion of self-regulated learning to help students gain ownership over their learning experiences.
