Experience Summary
I bring advanced college degrees, 20 years of real-world experience, and a deep insight into the barriers of culture, race, and language. I have a Bachelors degree(Chemical Engr.) and Masters (Chemical Engr. with Environmental Engr thesis). I passionately pursued a consulting career in environmental engineering for over 20 years serving federal clients. I honed excellent technical writing and public speaking skills. Specifically, I needed to convey complex issues to a wide audience in simple words. I taught math and science to my niece and her friends all the way through their high school years.
Teaching Style
In physics, chemistry, and mathematics, I believe it is very important that the student must learn the fundamental principles and concepts for long-term retention and application. Therefore, my teaching style will be based on: "DID YOU GET IT?" and not based on "rote learning" or "getting the result and moving on."
I believe that a bright child should not be deterred from learning and achieving the fullest depth of his or her potential because of the shallowness of the perceptions of society. In my experience and observations, every child has a different style of learning. Bottom line: My goal is to make students learn with enthusiasm; ask plenty of questions; and retain what they learn!
